You can get kettles made out of all sorts of things these days. Gone are the days when you had to choose a cast iron kettle or a cast iron kettle. Now you get to choose from steel, glass, ceramic, chocolate, plastic and loads of other materials.
They’re all great at containing water while it boils (except chocolate), some are less bendy than others, erm.. you can see through glass, that’s quite cool – watching the water boil. I mean you probably have more time on your hands than us if you want to watch water boil, but the possibility is there with a glass kettle. Much more difficult to do that without serious steam burns with an iron kettle.
Some are probably heavier than others too, so that might be useful to factor in if you’re going travelling or have the upper arm strength of softy Walter from the Beano.
